About

Charles-Henri Besseyre des Horts, holder of two doctorates (University of Aix-Marseille and University of California at Los Angeles), is an Emeritus Professor at HEC Paris. He is the past-President of the AGRH (Francophone Association of Academics in HR, 1000 members, 20 Francophone countries). He was, from September 2003 to September 2008, the director of the HEC-Toshiba research chair on ‘Nomadism and Mobile Technology’ and from September 2012 to July 2015, the director of the HEC-Webhelp research chair on ‘Human Capital and Performance’. He has taught for nearly 30 years in all HEC programs: HEC MS in Management (Grande École), HEC MBA, HEC Doctorate, HEC Executive Programs. He created the MS HEC Exed in Strategic HR Management which he led for 15 years.

His research focuses on the management of change in companies and organizations in relation to the digital revolution, the relationship between human capital and corporate performance. He has published numerous articles, including 73 columns in the weekly ‘Entreprise & Carrières’ since March 2020 and more than 25 books, some of the most recent as a co-author of: ‘AI at the Service of HR’ (Dunod, September 2020), ‘Management by Trust’ (Eyrolles, September 2020), ‘Hybrid Work & Organization’ (MA Editions, April 2021), ‘Meaning, DNA of the Responsible Company’, (Diateino, June 2021), ‘The New Hybrid Organizations’ (MA Editions, May 2022), ‘The Engineering of Freedoms’, (Vuibert, September 2022).

He has participated and still actively participates in international consulting and training activities in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He is, part-time, the Director of Corporate Relations of the FNEGE (French National Foundation for Management Education) and a member of the Scientific Council of ANVIE (a body for reflection and training bringing together large companies and researchers in social sciences).
