With a 20+ year career in HR leadership and commercial consulting roles, and with core capabilities built through leading multinational company operating model transformation and organization development initiatives, Mary is currently the Chief People Officer for Ahlstrom, having joined in June 2023 to lead their global People & Culture function. Ahlstrom is the global leader in fiber-based specialty materials. Their purpose is to Purify and Protect, with Every Fiber, for a Sustainable World. Ahlstrom operates globally and produces innovative and highly sustainable products for Filtration, Healthcare, Technical Materials, Building Materials, and Food & Consumer Products.

Mary is known for being an inclusive and innovative leader, combining her business acumen with HR passion to bring a business focused people agenda for high growth companies. She believes in being passionate about what we do, bringing our whole selves to work, and in exploring the diversity of thought and experience that our world offers.

Previously, Mary has worked in various HR executive roles for agriculture-industry leader Syngenta Group (2016-2023) and started her HR leadership career with SAB Miller two years prior. Before moving into HR functional roles, Mary spent 15 years working for major global consulting companies such as IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Strategy and People practices. She has lived and worked in Switzerland, the UK, and the USA and now lives in the Netherlands with her family.
